Vernon Army CSTC - BadgeAt Vernon Army CSTC you are going to develop skills and acquire knowledge that will be useful to you at your cadet corps and throughout your life.  We're sure you will find the time you spend at the training centre to be both interesting and enjoyable.

You are going to find that summer training may be challenging at certain stages, but you will also make many new friends and share a lot of good times you will not forget.  If you have been to camp before, you will undoubtedly look forward to meeting up with old friends from past courses and another summer filled with activity, learning, challenge, adventure and fun.

View of VACSTC from the airVernon, BC, is a popular vacation destination situated in the northern part of the Okanagan Valley.  Kalamalka Lake and Okanagan Lake are two popular lakes located within a few minutes drive of the Training Centre.  The Training Centre is located on the southern outskirts of the city on either side of Highway 97.  The main administrative buildings of the Training Centre are located on the east side of the highway.

VSCSTC School of Music Provides Dynamic Training

The level of expertise among staff at the Vernon Army Cadet Summer Training Centre School of Music gives cadets a unique musical experience.

Captain Bob Pratt, Director School of Music, says 90 per cent of his staff on the Military Band side are professional educators and have earned, or are working towards, their bachelor degrees in education and music.

Kamloops Army Cadet Returns From National With Medals

Aimee Debert is on target for big things. The 15-year-old youth from Kamloops, B.C. just returned from the Canadian National Smallbore Championships in Beachburg, Ontario wearing a neckful of medals.

VACSTC Company Sergeant Majors Resceive Appointments

  After a four-day selection process, seven senior staff cadets at Vernon Summer Training Centre were promoted to the position of Company Sergeant Major.

Prerequisites for the position include successfully completing the National Star Certification Exam, taking a Cadet Leader Instructor course and having experience in the position of platoon 2IC or platoon WO at camp.
