The following is a list of some scholarships available to both Cadets and CIC officers. As scholarship availability is constantly evolving, if you know of any changes please inform the Site Manager. |

Cadet
Spirit Award
Reference: Terms of Reference
The Royal United Services Institute of Vancouver Island (RUSI
VI) annually presents three Cadet Spirit Awards, each of
$250.00, to the Sea, Army, and Air Cadets of Vancouver Island.
The Cadets nominated for consideration for this award shall
exemplify the ethos and spirit of the Canadian Cadet Movement
and must be members in good standing of a Cadet Corps or
Squadron on Vancouver Island at the time of nomination.
Korea
Veterans Association Major General Rockingham Bursary
Reference:
2004 Bursary Letter
Three bursaries of $500 are available. Nominations must be
received by the DRCO through the elemental offices no later
than 20 May. The final selection is based on: cadet
performance; school marks; and enrolment or application to
a college, university or recognized post-secondary institution.
Cadets must be nominated and parading in the Victoria area.
Founders' Scholarship
Reference: BCPC Administrative Manual Section 4.5.1
There are two scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 each
are offered annually to Air Cadets by the BCPC of the Air
Cadet League of Canada in recognition of the generous contributions
made by the founding members of the Air Cadet Movement in
British Columbia. The awards are only open to deserving members
of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets in British Columbia on the
basis of scholastic achievement in Grade 12, and on outstanding
performance in Air Cadets.
Continuation Flying Training Awards
Reference: BCPC Administrative Manual Section 4.5.2
Established to provide continuation flying training cash
awards for cadets who have won Air Cadet power or glider
wings. Applications are mailed annually directly to each
flying and glider scholarship recipient for that year. Graduates
of that year and qualifying cadets from previous year’s
scholarships should submit their applications to the National
League Headquarters before the 31 October deadline.
Harry Astoria Memorial Gliding Award
Reference: Terms of Reference
This award is available to Air Cadets who are selected as
the Top Glider Graduate in British Columbia. This award has
been initiated in memory of Harry K. Astoria and his long
time dedication and service to the Air Cadet League of Canada,
in particular for his leadership and dedicated service to
the British Columbia Provincial Committee Air Cadet League
of Canada. The award has a cash value of $500.00. The Harry
Astoria Memorial Gliding Award is for presentation annually
commencing August 2001.
Bill Batchelor Continuation Flying Training Award
Reference: Terms of Reference
In memory of our long-term President and mentor, the Air
Cadet League of Canada, British Columbia Provincial Committee,
has established the Bill Batchelor Continuation Flying Training
Award, to be presented annually to the Top Graduate of the
provincial Flying Scholarship program. The award has a cash
value of $500.00.

International Space University Summer Session 
Reference: Association
of Universities and Colleges of Canada
Ten to 15 scholarships are available for studies in the
field of aerospace during a summer session. This program
is sponsored by the Canadian Foundation for the International
Space University.
Queen Elizabeth Silver Jubilee Endowment Fund for Study
in a 
Second
Official Language Award Program
Reference: Association of Universities and Colleges of
Canada
The program encourages young Canadians who wish to improve
their proficiency in their second official language. Participants
pursue fulltime studies at another university that functions
in the other official language and in a milieu in which
that language predominates.
All disciplines except translation are eligible. Students
must continue studies in the discipline in which they are
enrolled at their home university. Candidates must be Canadian
citizens or permanent residents enrolled in the second
or third year of their first undergraduate university program.
Candidates attending a Québec institution can be
in their first year of a first undergraduate program.
The program provides non-renewable scholarships of $5,000
for one academic year, plus transportation expenses for
one return trip between the place of residence and the
university to be attended.
Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards for Aboriginal Students

Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards for Aboriginal Students
is a guide to the universities, colleges, professional
associations and businesses that have scholarships, bursaries
or honorariums available to students with Aboriginal ancestry
studying in Canada.
TD Canada Trust Scholarship for Outstanding Community
Leadership

To encourage high school students to pursue their post-secondary
studies, TD Canada Trust offers 20 renewable scholarships
valued at $3,500 a year toward living expenses plus tuition
and summer employment as well as 60 one-time Certificate
of Merit Awards valued at $500. Candidates must be Canadian
citizens or permanent residents. They must be graduating
from their last year of high school
and have demonstrated involvement in community leadership.
The deadline for applications is November 1.
