Image: HR Hat BadgeYou've just discovered the web site of Halifax's oldest Army Cadet Corps. This Corps traces its history to before 1900 and bears the name of a proud Canadian armoured regiment (The Halifax Rifles).

We offer exciting and challenging training and activities for young people between the ages of 12 and 19 in a variety of areas.

Our activities include:

  • Marksmanship
  • Biathlon
  • Adventure Training and Woodscraft
  • Leadership and Drill
  • Sports & Fitness
  • Citizenship
  • Band
  • and Summer Camp!

You have the chance to gain training and advance in rank and responsibility. You learn to command other cadets and lead their activities.

The training you get will help you all your life. Many former cadets are well-known and have important positions in Canada; these include Olympic Gold Medallist Myriam Bedard, Canadian Idol runner-up in 2003 and Juno nominee Gary Beals, actors/comedians Rick Mercer and Jim Carey (The Mask), and the astronaut Marc Garneau.
